Working with the World Church

As part of our membership of the worldwide Anglican Communion, and our commitment to Christian Unity, we seek to share with other Christians overseas in sharing God’s peace and justice.

Each week we pray for different parts of the Anglican Communion and for different parts of the world through the World Council of Churches’ prayer cycle.  We rejoice to hear good news from other places and to share in solidarity with those in the midst of great sorrow and the poorest of the poor.

A major focus of our world church partnerships is through the Anglican Board of Mission (ABM), particularly in November when we share in the Archbishop’s ABM Appeal.  At other times of year we also seek to raise awareness and support of key issues and concerns.  Recently we thus supported Solomon Islander Australians in our parish to send a container of practical items to help rebuild lives, livelihoods and houses after natural disaster.
